Nigerian defender William Troost- Ekong was in action for his italian serie A side Udinese in their first league fixture in the year 2020.
The player was instrumental in the Club’s win over Lecce at the Stadio Comunale Via del Mare on Monday night, as he helped to keep a clean sheet against high scoring Lecce side.
Rodrigo De Paul scored the only goal of the game two minutes from time on Ekong’s 16th league appearance of the season.
The win lifted Udinese to 13th position in the table with 21 points from 18 games.
Meanwhile Ekong and his teammates will host Sassuolo in their next league game on Sunday.
