Embarrassing! Ndidi in bust up with Journalist on social media

Wilfred Ndidi has debunked reports that he feigned an injury in order to be excused from Nigeria’s friendly against Algeria.

The 25-year-old midfielder was among the early arrivals in Nigeria’s Constantine training camp, but had to return to England after team doctors recommended he be rested.

The story however took another twist when a Nigerian journalist Suleiman Folarin claimed the Leicester City star left the team after a disagreement with Coach Jose Peseiro over a new role.

“Sources on Ndidi injury: Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro wants to play Wilfred Ndidi at center back against #Algeria. Ndidi is upset about this. He wants to play in the midfield. Next thing, Ndidi has an undisclosed injury, out of the squad and returns to #England.” Folarin posted.

In response, Ndidi hit back at the journalist, before denying the allegations.

“How sure are you? Did you ask questions? Did you check your facts, No! You just decided to tweet… bravo you did yourself, proud sir,” The Leicester City midfielder responded on Twitter.

On his Instagram story, he said: “And you keep complaining that I don’t grant interviews. #Checkyourfacts, embarrassing from you.” He concluded.

Meanwhile the Nigeria Football Federation had since exonerated the midfielder from any wrong doing.
