Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick is confident Super Eagles will beat Ghana to the World Cup tickets in Abuja.
Following the first leg draw in Kumasi on Friday, the winner of the tie will be decided in Abuja on Tuesday.
Speaking ahead the decider, Pinnick said the Super Eagles will beat Ghana in the second leg to secure qualification to the World Cup.
The former CAF vice president believes the Black Stars were lucky to avoid defeat at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
“I think Ghana managed to have a draw not Nigeria. And I think we had a good chance of winning the game even though we’ve drawn, both sides played very well. I really thought that we could have won the game” he said on Akoma 87.9 FM.
“I know we should and will win convincingly at home. Our team is the better but we were unfortunate today,” Mr. Pinnick said after the game.
Nigeria have resumed preparations ahead of the second leg on Tuesday.
