Captain of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, Samson Tijani has asked for more support from Nigerians after the team’s 4-2 win over Hungary at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
The five time African Champions came back from a goal deficit to beat Hungary 4-2 in their opening game of the competition.
The Hungarians raced in front in the third minute through Gyorgy Komaromi, before Golden Eaglets Captain, Samson Tijani restored the parity in the 20th minute from the penalty spot.
The Hungarians regained the lead in the 28th minute, but Usman Ibrahim Timileyin Adeniyi and Samson Tijani ( brace) turned the game around with few minutes left.
Speaking after the game, Golden Eaglets Captain, Samson Tijani praised his teammates for their spirited efforts and urged Nigerians to keep on supporting the team.
“I appreciate my teammates for putting so much effort in this game. I also thank the fans for their massive support. They should keep supporting us, I believe my teammates and I will work hard to beat Ecuador”. Tijani said.
The Golden Eaglets will play Ecuador U-17 in their second game of the tournament on Tuesday.
