Heartland stun Nasarawa United in Lafia

The solid miners’ unimpressive start into the new season continues as they lost at home visiting heartland football club of Owerri in the MD 3 fixture of the NPFL at the Lafia City Stadium.

Samuel Nnoshiri left footed shot from the edge of the box condemned the Bala Nikyu side to their first home loss of the season and ensured that the Naze Millionaires ran away with all the three points.

Nasarawa United search for an equalizer but an inspired Ebele Obi in goal for Heartland produced a fantastic performance as he denied Emmanuel Makama and Zinte Udeh on several occasions to prevent Heartland’s impressive start to the season.

Speaking after the game, Assistant Coach of Nasarawa United, Arikya Abubakar said his boys couldn’t respond after conceding a goal.

“The boys didn’t do well not until after they conceded that goal but the damage had already been done as the players couldn’t come back from that early strike”.

The Coach added that his side will bounce back from the defeat and hopefully will soon start firing on all cylinders.

“We will go back to the drawing board and work on our lapses, he concluded”.

Nasarawa United will next be visitors to El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in MD 4.
