I won’t Contest in the 2019 Presidential Election – Kanu Nwankwo

Nigeria football Legend Kanu Nwankwo has denied any interests in running for the office of President, the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2019 elections, but is not ruling out a future political career.

In an exclusive interview with Brila.net the former Super Eagles captain dismissed the several social media campaigns and political statements attributed to him.

He said “Kanu did not authorize anybody or call anybody to do posters or messages or whatever else is been done.”

The former football star did thank those who have shown support and said, “It shows the love is there and it shows people like you and want you to come out and do what is right. George Weah did it in Liberia; even though he tried and tried again.”

“I was at home and got the call about me running for the President of the biggest Nation in Africa. I am not running for President of Nigeria.

“After all said, when the time is right I will make an announcement, but until then, I will keep doing what I know how to do by helping people with my heart foundation.”
