Austin Eguavoen has reacted to been named as the best manager of 2021 African Cup of Nations Group phase.
Eguaveon was awarded the honor after leading the Super Eagles of Nigeria to three victories in the Group phase.
The Super Eagles defeated Egypt 1-0 in their opening game, then beat Sudan 3-1, before seeing off Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in the final Group game last Wednesday.
Reacting to the honor, Eguaveon expressed gratitude to CAF, fans and most importantly, the players for their supports.
“Many thanks to the Confederation of African Football for this award.”
“The Best coach of the Group stage. Wouldn’t have been possible without my fantastic group of players and colleagues.”
“Thank you Nigerians, for your support. It’s needed now, more than ever”. He said.
Eguaveon and his boys would be in action again this evening. They’ll lock horns with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia for a place in the last eight of the competition.
