Ighalo glad to end debut season in Saudi Arabia on high

Odion Ighalo is excited to end his first season in the Saudi Arabian premier league on positive note.

Ighalo moved to Al-Shabab FC in the rich Asian country ack in January 2021 after the expiration of his loan deal with English side Manchester United.

The 31-year-old endured a slow start to life in Saudi Arabia, but recovered to finish the campaign with nine league goals, with three assists from 12 matches, including final day double against Al-Wehda on Sunday.

Al-Shabab narrowly missed out on the title to Al-Hilal with just four points, but they did managed to qualify for the Asian Champions League next season.

In message posted on his social media handle on Monday morning, Ighalo said the club had a successful season and also expressed gratitude to God.

“Thank God for a successful season”, The 2019 African Cup of Nations golden shoe winner posted on Twitter.

Ighalo is now expected to go on vacation and recharge his battery ahead of next season.
