Ighalo misses penalty as Al Hilal bow to Al Feiha in Saudi Arabian Cup final

Striker Odion Ighalo’s bid to win his second career trophy since turning professional 17 years ago ended in disappointment.

The Super Eagles striker was on the losing side as the Saudi Arabian FA Cup final between Al Hilal and Al Feiha ended 1-3 after a penalty shoot-out.

Odion Ighalo played the entire minutes encounter played at the King Abdullah Sports Stadium on Thursday.

Salem Al-Dawsari gave Al Hilal the lead in the first half of added time, but substitute Ramon Lopez restored parity for Al Feiha in the 66th minute.

Lopez’s goal eventually sent the match into extra time, but both teams could find the winner, and the match was decided from the penalty spot.

Odion Ighalo is among the three Al Hilal players who missed their kick as Al Feiha clinched the trophy with a 1-3 win from the spot.

Ighalo has now failed to add another winners medal to the Chinese Cup title he won in 2019.
