Ighalo talks about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best managerial qualities

Former Nigerian international Odion Ighalo has explained the best qualities of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer has guided United to second spot in the premier league this season and they are one leg into the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League.

Despite United’s good showings this season, fans remain splitted over the former Cardiff boss as some believes he has to win trophies to be considered a great manager.

Ighalo who once played for Manchester United has now provided an insight into how good Solskjaer is.

“He knows how to manage the boys and talks to you, especially when you are not playing.

“He’s a good guy, a calm guy, and I never saw him get angry – perhaps during a game when we were losing but the day after that it was totally forgotten because the next game was always more important than the last one,” Ighalo told Skysports.

Ighalo added that apart from his good man-management skills, he’s also tactically intelligent.

“He’s an intelligent coach. Tactically he’s good but with a team like Manchester United, a big team with a lot of good players, everyone wants to play.”

“So sometimes it’s difficult for the coach but he understands that and when you have a coach who can manage that, then it is really good.”

Ighalo worked with the Norwegian at United for twelve months before moving to Saudi Arabia premier league side Al-Shabab in the summer.
