Joshua avoiding Fury and Wilder for money, Says Lewis

Former heavyweight champion of the World Lenox Lewis, Says Anthony Joshua is deliberately avoiding WBC champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury to fight easier opponents.

Joshua and Wilder has not been able to reach agreement for unification bout after several negotiations broke down between the boxing champions.

Joshua defeated Russian Alexander Povetkin to retain his titles inSeptember while Wilder decided to fight Fury who believes Eddy Hearns (Joshua‘s Promoted) is hiding the Nigeria boxer from him in December.

 

Lewis, one of Britain‘s greatest heavyweights boxer believes Joshua is chasing money ahead of a tough fight and warned it could lead to his downfall.

“Joshua can take his time. He’s champion now. He says he doesn’t want to fight Tyson Fury for a year or so. He told Boxing scene.

“He wants to go around making money. I think that’s going to be a downfall for him. He has to stay with it, he can’t be in the background.

 

“If he wants to be champion, he has to act like a champion.”

Joshua is undefeated, winning all his 22 professional fights and hasthree of the four major titles (IBF, WBA and WBO) in the heavyweight division to his name.
