NPFL side Kano Pillars bow to a 3-1 defeat against Senegalese club side ASC Jaraaf in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie at the Stade Demba Diop on Saturday night.
Pillars took the lead through David Ebuka in the 12th minute but the lead lasted only five minutes before Zakky Bassane equalized for the hosts.
ASC Jaraaf took the lead in the game seven minutes before the half time break with Samba Diallo nodding home from inside the box.
Meanwhile, Pillars have goalkeeper Ayeleso to thank as he made a number of vital saves to help Pillars minimize the deficits afterwards.
The second leg will hold next weekend in Nigeria and Pillars will hope to turn things around in Kano.
