Jupiler League side KRC Genk have confirmed that Nigerian striker Tolulope Arokodare sustained a knee injury and will be out of action for several weeks.

Arokodare was stretched off in Genk’s 3-0 win over Oostende last Sunday.

The striker started the game, but lasted for just 12th minutes after sustaining the injury.

Speaking on the striker’s health, Genk manager Wouter Vrancken says that the 22 year-old suffered a knee injury, but it wasn’t serious.

“Tolu had knee problems, but it wouldn’t be a cruciate ligament injury.

“He sustained a difficult injury, we are hoping he’ll return sooner than expected,” Vrancken explained.

Arokodare joined the Belgian league leaders during the January transfer window.

He has one goal and one assist in four games for the Limburgers.
