Bala Abubakar is favourite to become the new head coach of Lobi Stars.

Lobi Stars are hunting for a replacement for Mohammed Babaganaru ahead of next season.

Babaganaru has been informed that his contract will not be extended after the team’s collapse at the just concluded NPL Super 6 playoff in Lagos, forcing the management to look elsewhere for a coach.

Club Chairman, Dominic Iorfa has now approached Bala Abubakar, offering him the opportunity to manage the team.

The Coach could possibly land the job as negotiation near it’s completion in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Bala Abubakar is currently engaged by Niger Tornadoes, but wants to experience something different next season.

Should everything go as planned, he is expected to complete the switch to Markurdi,  July 1, 2023.
