Ndidi return as Leicester City beat Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest

Wilfred Ndidi returned to the pitch after missing Nigeria’s friendlies against Algeria last month.

The Midfielder featured in Leicester City’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium on Monday.

Ndidi started the game, but was substituted in the second half as Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers aim to protect the midfielder from further injury.

Despite seeing just 45 minutes of action, Ndidi was impressive as he won three duels, two tackles and three interceptions.

Leicester City raced to 3-0 lead in the first half, before adding another strike in the second half to seal their first Premier League victory of the season.

His compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi was on parade for the visitors, but could not add to his goal tally for Nottingham.

The Nigerian forward again was handed a starting berth by Forest manager Steve Cooper, but was replaced by another Nigerian Emmanuel Dennis.
