Obafemi Martins due for Surgery in the UK

Obafemi Martins will have surgery on a torn hamstring in the UK according to his club Shanghai Shenhua.

The Chinese Super League side posted an update on the player’s injury on instagram.

Martins posed for photos with club officials and fans at the airport.

The IG post read: Martins is flying to UK for surgery today. Be well soon.

The 33-year-old striker suffered the injury while playing in the Asia champions league against Japanese side Kashima Antlers.

Meanwhile, several fans also showed their support, as they sent messages wishing the Nigerian a quick recovery.
