Jide Omotayo is determined to replicate his Commonwealth Games performance at next year’s African Games with the target of an Olympic Games ticket.

Omotayo was a member of Nigeria’s quartet to the Team’s World Table-tennis Championship in Sweden where Nigeria reached the division 2 quarter-final.

The 22-year-old, who won silver with Nigeria at the XXI CWG, told Brila.net that he’s had a dream start to his senior career and now wants to focus on the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Currently ranked 215th in the world, Omotayo said he wants to use the 2019 African Games as his stepping stone to the Olympics.
