Onyekuru nets in Adana Demirspor draw at Kayserispor

Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru was on target for Adana Demirspor in their 2-2 away draw at Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

Onyekuru started the match at the Kadir Has Stadium and netted his side’s second of the game.

Papa Alioune Ndiaye gave Adana Demirspor ideal start to the game when he put them in front inside opening 12 minute.

Onyekuru then made it 2-0 five minutes after hour mark, and shortly after that they took their feet off the pedals and allowed the hosts back in the game.

Mario Gavranović reduced the deficit for the hosts just two minutes after Onyekuru’s goal.

In a bid to inject more pace into the attack, Adana Demirspor’s manager Vicenzo Montela opted to replace Onyekuru with Congolese forward Britt Assombalonga in the 79th minute.

The move yielded little or nothing as Portuguese star Miguel Filipe Nunes Cardoso levelled the tie for the host in the 82nd minute.

The draw however proved costly as Adana Demirspor missed the opportunity to replace Fenerbahce on top of the Super Lig table.
