Victor Osimhen missed this weekend’s win over Torino as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti, however, is feeling confident that Osimhen could play against Ajax in the Champions League next week.
Osimhen has not played football since suffering suffering a femoral bicep strain during the 4-1 win over Liverpool on September 7.
Speaking after the 3-1 win over Torino at the Maradona, Spalletti said all his players are fit, including Osimhen.
“We have to get used to these situations with players who arrive at the last minute, it’s something all the big clubs need to do.
“The important thing is that nobody gets hurt. We had nobody injured and we were lucky.”
After trashing Torino, Napoli will turn their attention to the Champions League where they’ll face Ajax Amsterdam on Tuesday October 4.
Napoli are top of their Champions League group on six points, followed by Liverpool and Ajax on three apiece.
Osimhen had been able to contribute two goals and one assist in his six competitive appearances before the injury this season.
