Osimhen passes Chelsea test in Serie A clash against Roma

According to reports Chelsea scouts were at the Stadio Olimpico to watch Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen against Roma over the weekend.

The scouts however left with a huge impression as the 23-year-old showed why he is one of the most sought-after striker in the world.

The Nigerian turned out to be the difference maker as he scored a sumptuous goal against the Gillarossi to keep Napoli three points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

He netted the decisive goal ten minutes from time, as he out muscled England defender Chris Smalling and unleashed a thunderous volley from a tight angle.

The former Lille star has been terrific for the Partenopei this season, despite missing almost four weeks of action, due to injury.

The brilliant performances this season have increased interest in him, with several Premier League clubs linked with the Nigerian.

Manchester United were constantly linked with the player last transfer window, and it is believed the Red Devils will make him priority next summer.

However according to Calciomercato’s report Chelsea are interested in the striker and their scouts were present at the stadium to watch him.

Chelsea are currently without a choice number nine and it is one of the positions Graham Potter wants to address at the end of the season.

The Blues are now expected to join Manchester United in the race to sign the striker who they believe could bring some dynamism to their attack.

A huge fee of at least £90 million is believed to be the price that might tempt Napoli to sell.

Osimhen has four goals and one assist in his seven matches this season so far.
