Former scribe of the Nigeria Olympic Committee Chief Tunde Popoola has called on the NOC to as a matter of urgency wade into the ongoing fiasco over the leadership of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria considering that it is the threshold of an Olympic year loading already.
Popoola speaking in a chat with brila.net said this shouldn’t be allowed to escalate beyond its current state else it will be counterproductive for Nigeria and the athletes especially who will suffer it the most if this lingers.
“The NOC right now in the interest of this nation, they should call the two factions together and let them arbitrate immediately in this crisis otherwise we are looking at messing up with the Olympics and unfortunately it’s the athletes that will suffer.
“If we as administrators cannot really control our urge for power, it’s rather unfortunate.”
