QPR Boss identifies Leon Balogun’s Importance after full debut

Queen Park Rangers manager Micheal Beale is pleased with defender Leon Balogun, following his full debut for the Club.

Balogun made his long awaited was handed his first start by QPR boss, Beale, against Millwall in the Championship on Wednesday.

The 34 year-old partnered Jimmy Dunne in the heart of the defense and they both guided the team to a comfortable 2-0 win on the road.

In an interview with the Club’s official website, Beale singled out Balogun for praise.

“An outstanding full debut that was from him,” he told the club website.

“That is his first game really since the Scottish Cup Final in the middle of May. He came straight in next to Jimmy (Dunne) and showed his class.”

The game marks Balogun’s return to the Championship, two years after quitting Wigan Athletic for Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers.

At Glasgow Rangers, he won the league title and Scottish Cup, played in the final of the Europa League.
