Scrabble king, Wellington Jighere plots return to top spot

Nigerian scrabble legend, Wellington Jighere has set 2019 as the year to stage a big comeback to the limelight in the sport.

Speaking with brila.net, the winner of the inaugural World English-language Scrabble Players’ Association(WESPA) World Championship in 2015 noted that he has been on a special training to aid his return to the scene.
“As far as 2019 is concerned, I’m focused on getting back to speed because for the past two years, I have not been as good as I used to be. So I’m doing some tutor remedy right now. The idea is to do better this year than the last two years”, he said.
Wellington defeated Lewis MacKay in four straight wins to become the first African to be crowned World Scrabble Champion.
