Monday night football and Chelsea having won the league at the Hawthorns last friday provided nothing but pure excitement for fans at the bridge in a seven goal thriller against a resilient Watford side.

Final score was 4-3 as both teams came at each other with attacking instincts .

John Terry gave the host the lead with his 67th goal for the club, midway through the first-half but was short lived and within 35 seconds of the restart, his defensive lapse had presented Watford with the equaliser.

Attempting to nod a high ball back to his own goalkeeper he left it short and Etienne Capoue darted in to beat Asmir Begovic.

Cesar Azpilicueta who moved into the wing-back role and fired his team back into the lead before the interval.

Batshuayi extended the lead with the help of a splendid assist by Ake but again the lead did not last long as Daryl Janmaat danced through the Chelsea defence and reduced the deficit to one goal almost immediately.

Chelsea

Okaka seized on a mistake by Zouma to make it 3-3 with 15 minutes remaining but Fabregas came on to win the game, to the fury of Walter Mazzarri and the delight of more than 40,000 at the home of the champions.
