Super Eagles midfielder ETEBO is injured, could be out for five months

Super Eagles enigmatic midfielder Peter Oghenekharo Etebo is out of action for four to five months with a torn quad muscle, Watford have confirmed.

The on-loan midfielder picked up the injury at the end of the 1-1 draw with Newcastle last weekend.

Etebo was evaluated by the club’s medical staff following his withdrawal, with the length of his absence confirmed by Watford on Thursday.

The Watford statement read: “Midfielder Peter Etebo tore a quad muscle towards the end of the Newcastle United game last weekend and is expected to be out for between four to five months.

As a result of the injury, Etebo is likely to miss out of Gernot Rohr’s Squad for the 2022 AFCON.
