Mutiu Adepoju, a Former Nigeria international, has stated that the result against Corsica is a good one.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria settled for a 1-1 draw with Corsica in an international friendly on Friday, despite the myriad of chances created mostly by the Super Eagles.
Corsica went into the lead in the fifth minute when debutant, Tyronne Ebuehi, was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty box and a penalty was awarded to Corsica.
After pilling much pressure on the Corsica team, the Super Eagles equalized in the eightieth minute, thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho who converted a spot kick after Etebo was fouled.
Speaking about the game, Adepoju stated that, what is more important is the understanding among the players, adding that it would help prepare the team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“We shouldn’t make any issue on the draw against Corsica considering that some of the players are still new. They are building the team up,”
“I think what is important is how the team played, the understanding, not the result of the gam,” Adepoju said.
Nigeria will play against Togo on June 1 in another international friendly match in France.
