Henan Huishang FC defender Onome Ebi is optimistic the Super Falcons will do well at the up-coming Total AWCON in Ghana 2018 and hails Coach Thomas Dennerby as one of best in the world.
The Super Falcons who have won the Africa Women Nations Cup a record ten-time will know their Group opponents when the draw for the tournament proper takes place on Sunday, 21 October 2018 in Accra.
However, Ebi has assured the team are in safe hands and are ready to defend the tournament they won in Cameroon.
“Our coach is the best for the team, I believe before a federation appoints a coach for the national team, he must be one of the best, we can see the performances results during the qualifiers and the changes he brought to the team.
“I’m sure the team will do well in Ghana.
The Defender, is one of the most experience players in the Super Falcons, she previously play in Sweden, Turkey and Belarus before joining her current club in China.
She has been present in the national team for years and played for different coaches, but the 35-year old refused to compare the current Super Falcon coach to the previous coaches she had worked with.
“I don’t compare coaches because their styles are different. Just like players , coaches aren’t the same too but I can say Coach Dennerby is a good coach , he has his ways of communicating with the players, the players are cool with him too.
He’s very tactically and technically sound and he’s will definitely bring something good out of the team”.
The former FC Minsk Belarus defender has been in good form lately for her club, scoring and assisting two goals in Henan Huishang’s 4-1 win over Hebei Yuandong last week .
“You know the joy that comes with a player scoring goal , the goal means a lot to me because I was converted to play in the attack and I scored and assist.
Although, I’ve always being a confident player , but what I want is for my team to play well and win”. She concluded.
