Nigerian defender William Troost-Ekong is edging closer to a comeback after a spell on the sidelines due to injury.

Ekong, 30, underwent surgery in February following an injury sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, but has now commenced light training and physical exercises as he prepares to resume on-field activities.

The CB’s gradual return to fitness has raised hopes that he may be available for selection before the season’s end.
