Nigeria Men’s U20 team, Flying Eagles, were held 2-2 by Guinea Bissau in their first-leg second round 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifying match in Bissau on Saturday.
Inside the Estádio 24 de Setembro, the Flying Eagles were under control for the most part from the blast of the whistle and raced into a 2-0 lead inside 38 minutes.
Wasiu Alalade scored a first half brace [28′, 28′] to reward the team’s dominance.
However, Paul Aigbogun’s team buckled and allowed their host hit back, as the Junior Dhurtus leveled just 18 minutes after the restart of the game.
Although the final result means Nigeria still holds the advantage heading into the second-leg; later this moment, the Flying Eagles must avoid a defeat or another 2-2 or more score draw to ease into the third and final round of qualifier.
