Ujah joins Bundelisga 2 side Eintracht Braunschweig

Nigerian forward Anthony Ujah says he’s delighted to sign for Bundesliga 2 outfit, Eintracht Braunschweig.

Ujah completed the move after the expiration of his contract with Bundesliga side Union Berlin.

He signed a one-year contract with the club, although the deal can be extended further years, should the Nigerian perform.

“I’m very happy to be part of Eintracht in the future. I know the second Bundesliga division and will try to help the team with my experience.

“I was rooting for the DFB Pokal (FA Cup) game against Hertha Berlin at the airport in Nigeria on Sunday and I’m happy for the team. In the end, we want to celebrate winning together, I will invest everything for that,” said Ujah.

Ujah has played for Mainz, FC Cologne, Werder Bremen and Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

The 31-year-old also made 62 appearances, scoring 24 goals for Cologne in Bundesliga 2.

Ujah àlso had a brief spell with Lillestrom and Liaoning.

“At the same time, our young attackers will benefit from his experience. Tony is an absolute team player,” said Eintracht sporting director Peter Vollmann.
