Super Eagles forward, Umar Sadiq finally returned to competitive action after almost a year on sideline with injury.

Sadiq suffered an Achilles injury against Getafe last season, few weeks after his club record move to Sociedad from Almeria.

The Nigerian forward successfully made his return on Saturday, featuring in Real Sociedad 1-1 draw against Girona, at the Reale Seguros Stadium.

He was a 75th minute substitute in his first game, replacing Mikel Oyarzabal.

The host took the lead in the 5th minute through Kubo Take’s fine finish, but their visitors from Barcelona leveled parity in the 72nd minute through Dovbyk.

Umar Sadiq had a chance to give his side the winner during the game, but both teams ended up with a 1-1 draw despite their efforts to secure a winning goal.
