We are aware of Super Eagles recent poor home record — Ayew

Ghana captain Andre Ayew has stated that the Black Stars will be at the FIFA World Cup at the expense of the Super Eagles.

Recalled the first leg of the playoff between both sides in Kumasi ended 0-0 and the Nigerians will host the second leg in 60,000 capacity stadium in Abuja come Tuesday.

In a chat with Ghananian media ahead of the game, Ayew who is suspended for the tie said, they’re aware of Super Eagles’ recent poor home record and he expects them to be under a lot of pressure come Tuesday.

“If you ask me, I am happy with the result. I would say yes because football has changed a lot and I know for sure that we can go to Nigeria and surprise them,” Ayew told reporters in Kumasi.

“As far as I am concerned, I am very much optimistic that the Black Stars can make it to the World Cup in Qatar.

“I also know that Nigeria’s home record is not really good. I also believe that the Super Eagles will be under a lot of pressure in Abuja on Tuesday, particularly as they could not score against us.”

Only an outright win or a score draw will guarantee the Black Stars’ qualification to the World Cup finals in Qatar, while needs nothing but a win to advance.
