Ghana’s technical adviser Chris Hughton says, the Black Stars have the to qualities to beat Nigeria to the Qatar 2022 World Cup ticket.
Hughton who arrived Ghana on Sunday, ahead of the playoff cracker with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, stated this in a press conference monitored by brila.net.
The Black Stars will host the Super Eagles at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for the first leg of the encounters this Friday, before traveling to Abuja for the reversed fixture four days later.
“As part of the build up, I would like Ghanaians to remain calm and positive about the team, because we strongly believe, we have the quality, desire and hunger to achieve the results that we want.” He said.
“It is our dream to qualify for the Qatar World Cup and we’ll have a duty to make that dream a reality.“
The Black Stars played at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup, before missing out on the 2018 edition, however Hughton is confident they can stage a come back.
“Ghana has done it before , and we can guarantee you that everyone associated with team is ready to work in order to get the team perform on the World stage .“
“This moment present an opportunity to write history and we are all commited to it . From the players to the technical staffs and the Ghana Football Association and the government.” He stated.
