Sport Minister, John Enoh has assured Nigerians that the Super Eagles will have a new coach within two weeks.

The Super Eagles, who recently played two friendlies, have been without a coach since Jose Peseiro’s contract ended after the Africa Cup of Nations.

Former international and Enyimba coach Finidi George has been handling the team on an interim basis while the Nigeria Football Federation searched for a permanent coach.

“NFF is aware of our upcoming qualifiers in June, and I can guarantee that within the next one or two weeks, the senior national team will have a new coach,” Enoh stated.

“After our performance in AFCON, there’s an expectation to build on that momentum,” the Sports Minister added.

The Super Eagles are preparing for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June, and will face both South Africa and Benin Republic.
