Bayer Leverkusen’s manager, Xabi Alonso has disclosed that Victor Boniface is ready to make his return to the pitch after recovering from injury.

Boniface, who has been sidelined since January due to an adductor injury requiring surgery, has diligently worked his way back to full fitness over recent weeks.

The 23-year-old Nigeria international is now on the brink of a comeback and is expected to feature in Leverkusen’s upcoming DFB Pokal semi-final against Fortuna Dusseldorf scheduled for Wednesday.

“We have no injured players. Everyone could be available for the squad,” Alonso told a press conference.

“Boniface could play a part of the game. He trained hard and came through it with a strong mentality. He can’t wait to be back on the pitch.”

Until his injury setback, Victor Boniface was enjoying his time at the club, contributing significantly to the team’s success.

In just 16 league matches, the talented striker amassed an impressive tally of ten goals and seven assists, underscoring his pivotal role within the squad.
