Former Super Eagles player Mutiu Adepoju has called for caution among Nigerians who has the euphoric dream of seeing the Super Eagles win the 2019 AFCON title next month in Egypt as the team gets set to return to Africa’s biggest soccer showpiece with less than a month to the start of the competition.
Adepoju told www.brila.net that the team is for now in the right direction and one which the technical crew can build on moving forward but urge Nigerians to take things gradually rather than pressure the team to ultimately win the AFCON trophy.
He added that as much as he believes the team can win the cup, this can only be achieved through hard work.
“The euphoria that we are having with the team now is the confidence that everybody is having but we just have to go step by step and we have to go gradually.
The team is in the right direction and they are doing great, in that we just have to build on but we believe that with good preparation and hard work, this could be done.”
