Algeria Coach Rabah Madjer admits The Fennecs are a team in crisis ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
Madjer was appointed as replacement for Lucas Alcaraz by the Fédération algérienne de football (FAF) after the latter failed to win a single game in the world cup qualifiers.
With no hope of reaching next summer’s tournament, Algeria will now play for pride against the group B winners but, Madjer insists it is still an important game.
“Our team are in crisis, it has been a difficult period for the players and that is why we have to get back to winning matches immediately.
“The match against Nigeria is not a friendly, to me this is the first match of the qualifiers for next year’s World Cup,” the Algerian football Legend said at a presser.
