Former Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi says the Nigerian National team that championed Africa in 1980 is a better squad to the 1994 squad.
The former Everton forward while speaking on Brila FM on Monday morning said the publicity for the 1980 Green Eagles got was low and would have been more if there were social media.
Amokachi said the 1980 squad with Odegbami, Muda Lawal, Felix Owolabi, Adokiye Amesiamaka, that team was better than his own class of 1994.
“If the generation before ours had that social media power like we are seeing now, they would have been superstars.
“We were a very decent generation, this generation is different and that’s how it is.
“I am sure my colleagues will hate me for saying this but that’s just my opinion.
“Who would argue that Rufai was better than Emmanuel Okala. Who would argue that Thompson Oliha was better than Muda Lawal, God rest their souls?
