Rivers united defender Ifeanyi Anaemena has rued the unavailability of the team’s supposed CAF Confederation cup first round second leg tie opponent Bloemfontein Celtics after the increasing spate of Covid-19 denied the South African team access to enter Nigeria.
Anaemena speaking in a chat with brila.net talked about the the efforts and preparation put into the game already only to be told Tuesday afternoon that the team have been denied access hence will now wait for a new date and possible change of venue before playing the second leg match which the Porthacourt based team would have loved to get out of the way.
“It’s actually a very bad one for us because we’ve moved into camp getting ready for the game and all of a sudden we are called that NCDC could not give out waiver to the South African team because of the Covid-19 case in their country.”
