Taiwo Awoniyi has been excluded from Nottingham Forest’s squad for the Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Coach Steve Cooper explained his decision to leave the Striker out of this weekend’s game was because Awoniyi still couldn’t shake off the injury.

Awoniyi has missed the Reds last two games across as a result of injury.

“Taiwo didn’t make it for this one(against Leicester City),” Cooper was quoted by Nottingham Post.

“We’re working away with him for the weekend. We’ve got our fingers crossed on that one,” the Forest Manager said.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the League game against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium last weekend.

The Nigeria international is Nottingham Forest’s top scorer this season with three goals in the league.

Forest will host Leicester City at the City Ground, Today, and will be aiming to continue their fight for survival.
