Queens Park Rangers defender Leon Balogun is still recovering from injury, despite spending almost three months on the sideline.

QPR boss, Neil Critchley however revealed the 35 year-old has made significant progress in recent weeks.

Balogun has been out injured since November 8, he picked up the knock during a Championship game against Huddersfield and was due to return in February.

The CB was expected to return to action this month, but it’s no longer feasible and could miss Nigeria’s AFCON qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau in a double-header.

“We’ve got some good news regarding Leon. He can step up his progress, but he’s still a little bit away at the moment,” QPR manager says.

Balogun joined QPR as a free agent last summer, following his exit from Glasgow Rangers.

He has featured in just 11 games and scoring once before the injury. He now is in a race to save his future at the club, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
