Golden Eaglets captain Samson Tijani has praised his teammates for not giving up after going down against Hungary and assured that they will put in a better performance when they face Ecuador in their next Group B game.
Tijani, who was named Man of the Match, said: ”I am really grateful for everything and I really thank all the players for putting their efforts in this game to come back and win the game, I thank God for everything.
”I thank the fans for supporting us, I really thank God for that.
”They should keep supporting us and I just believe with my teammates we are going to do better against Ecuador”.
Should they beat Ecuador on Tuesday evening, the Manu Garba led side will qualify for the knockout rounds with a game to spare.
