Efe Ambrose hails Rohr’s selection decision

Out of favour Super Eagles defender and Derby County player, Efe Ambrose has hailed the decision of coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria not to invite players who are not featuring regularly for their clubs.

Ambrose, who himself is looking to start getting game time with his new club side, was part of the national team under the late Stephen Keshi that last lifted the AFCON trophy in 2013 in South Africa.
This follows the recent decision by the Franco-German not to invite Kelechi Iheanacho and Isaac Success, and speaking with www.brila.net, Ambrose said he strongly believes that Rohr will turn things around for the Eagles, as he knows what he is doing
“He is a European coach and that is their mentality, no matter how good you are or super you are, you must be playing regularly for your club for you to represent your country”.
“It’s a good thing he has brought to the Eagles and that’s why they are where they are today, credit to him, the team has really improved and so the man knows his job”
Every coach today wants players who are consistent, who are match fit, not to be training every day and not get playing time with your club”.
“I’m really happy that the man knows his job and I also love that he wants to do well with the national team”.
Players of the Eagles will all be hoping to get regular playing time at their clubs as they eye the chance of being part of the team for Egypt 2019.
