Former Super Eagles defender and ex-international, Pastor Taribo West has called on soccer fans in the country to be patient with the Super Eagles of Nigeria under coach Gernot Rohr as the team is still a young one, ahead of the African Nations Cup.
Nigeria is getting set to be part of 24 teams at this year’s AFCON in Egypt, having missed out on the last two previous editions.
In a chat with brila.net, the former AC Milan and Inter Milan star noted that too many expectations from the players would be counterproductive, calling for time to be given to the team to blend very well.
“Its a young team with players coming together to make it a great one. Gernot Rohr has been doing a good job with players selection and invitation.
” I think people should give them time as the players will eventually come good, so people should exercise patience with the team” he stated.
Nigeria has a doubleheader against Zimbabwe and Senegal en route Egypt.
