Emem Eduok targets Super Eagles recall

One time Super Eagles forward Emem Eduok says he is working hard with the target of staging a comeback into the National team set up under Technical adviser Gernot Rohr.

Since a solitary cap for the Super Eagles as a 69th-minute substitute against Tanzania in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, the former Dolphins dangerman, who famously scored an NPFL record six goals in a match against Nembe City in 2014, has constantly been overlooked by national team handlers.
In a chat with brila.net, the former Esperance forward expressed his desire to return to the team, while praising the progress of the 3-times African champions under Gernot Rohr.
“Every player’s dream is to play for the national team,” he said.
“I have been working hard hoping to come back soon.
“There are good players in the current team. They have been representing us well, putting their best foot forward, and winning games. They are a good team.”

Eduok has represented Nigeria at under-20 level and scored on his senior debut in a 1-0 friendly win over Ghana in November 2014.

He produced a stunning performance for Dolphins in October by scoring all his side’s goals in the 6-0 win over Nembe City in Port Harcourt in the Nigerian top tier.
