Former PAOK Captain describe Savvidis ‘Pitch-invasion’ as Embarrassing

ormer Nigeria international, Ifeanyi Udeze’s has described the action of his former Club, PAOK Saloniki’ Owner as an “Embarrassing act”.

The Greek Super League match between against AEK Athens postponed on Sunday after the club’s owner invaded the pitch in the company of his entourage to attack the Match Officials.

Speaking on Brila FM’s Big Sports Breakfast Show, Udeze said he is highly disappointed in Savvidis’s action.

“It’s really disappointing”, One would expect a better act from a Chairman, with his kind of personality”, Udeze told Brila FM

The former Super Eagles defender who disclosed he has been recently contacted by the PAOK Board to join the team’s technical crew says the owner’s action is discouraging.

The Club owner who appeared to be armed with a gun and his entourage stormed the pitch following the disallowing of a late goal.

PAOK thought they had secured a last-gasp win with an 89th-minute effort, only for the referee to alter his decision following the protestations of AEK players.

The goal was ultimately disallowed, meaning PAOK were unable to usurp their rivals at the top of the table.

The West Brom’ left back Udeze played for PAOK for seven years over two spells, while he also played for AEK for one season.
