Former Tottenham Manager, Tim Sherwood has explained that Semi Ajayi is one of the reasons Manchester City failed to beat West Bromwich Albion in the Premier league last night.
Manchester City and West Brom played out a 1 – 1 draw at the Etihad stadium and the result means City remain five points off the top of the table.
Standing in the way of Pep Guardiola’s men on Tuesday, was Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi who was heavily involved in the Baggies’s equaliser.
Semi Ajayi and his center back pair Dara O’Shea also registered 17 clearances between them in the match.
“You’re struggling at the bottom of the league-you need a bit of luck . Ajayi’s shot being deflected in just before half-time too was just what they needed. But they played well. They were organised, they had determination and drive and they kept compact.” Tim Sherwood said in the post match analysis.
West Brom will hope to replicate the same form when they host rivals Aston Villa on Sunday at 7.15 pm.
