Six years after his debut for Nigeria, Azubuike Okechukwu earned a recall to the National team and insists he’s keen to fight for a place even if requires playing in a makeshift position.
Speaking with brila.net , Okechukwu said he’s aware of the stiff competitions in the team and he’s ready to adapt.
The 25-year-old is one of the seven midfielders listed for the international friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador by Super Eagles assistant Coach Salisu Yusuf.
“It doesn’t matter, really as a footballer you need to how to play two of three position to be available for selection. Some coaches like to make changes and sometimes it is important to adapt and give 100 percent,” said the Midfielder who plies his trade in Turkey.
“For me I can play in the defensive midfield or central midfield and right back. We have other guys who can play that role as well.”
The international friendly games vs Mexico is slated for 28th May, while the clash with Ecuador is scheduled for 2nd June – both games will be played in the US.
