Kano Pillars beat Enyimba to open two points gap at the top of NPFL table

Kano Pillars came back from behind to edge Enyimba international of Aba in one of NPFL match day 24 clash at the Sani Abacha’s stadium.

Kano Pillars came into the match unbeaten in their last 11 matches, while Enyimba was in good mode following mid week win over Lobi Stars in Aba.

The People’s Elephants drew the first blood inside opening 8 minute when striker Victor Mbaoma gave them the lead.

The goal brought Pillars into life and they piled pressure on Enyimba’s defense, but the eight time Nigerian champions were able to go into the break with their lead.

However a poor second half saw the Fatai Osho’s tutored side relinquished their lead and fell behind.

Enyimba conceded the equalizer six minute into the second half when inspiration ageless midfielder Rabiu Alli converted a penalty.

The Sai Masu Gida completed the come back on the 75th when Ifeanyi Eze scored the winner to hand them all the three points.

Ifeanyi Eze who just off the bench scored from close range from Nyima Nwagua’s assist.

With the win, Kano Pillars have now opened a four points lead at the top of the table, while Enyimba remain 7th, although with three games in hand.

Kano Pillars have now garnered 48 points from 24 round of matches, while remain on 38 points.
