LaLiga: Barcelona rules Spain again

FC Barcelona are now champions of Spain for the 27th time in their history following their 4-2 victory against Espanyol at the RCDE stadium to go 16 points clear of second place Real Madrid with four games to go.

Needing a win against fierce City rivals, Espanyol to seal the League crown, Barcelona set off on a confident note through Alejandro Balde provided Robert Lewandowski with the opening goal (11′).

Balde then grabbed the visitor’s second from a Pedri assist in the 20th minute. Lewandowski got his brace five minutes before the break.

Jules Kounde scored his first goal for Barcelona, to stretch the lead further and put the result beyond doubt.

Espanyol responded with two goals of their own, but it wasn’t enough as Barcelona had already done enough to be crowned champions of La Liga.

Xavi Hernandez has delivered the league title in his first full season at the club.
